The Modern HSV Playbook brings five educational guides together. Each volume addresses a different practical area of life with HSV, so you can start with the question that matters most to you now. You do not need to read them in order or adopt a prescribed path from diagnosis to confidence.

The complete collection

All five guides in one collection, covering medical foundations, dating and disclosure, stigma and self-worth, digital tools and support networks. Each volume addresses a different practical area and identifies where evidence is strong, limited or still developing.

The collection is educational. It does not diagnose HSV, replace qualified medical or mental-health care, guarantee personal outcomes or provide emergency support.

Choose a starting point

Volume I: The Modern Man’s Guide to HSV covers symptoms, testing, antiviral treatment and long-term management questions. Start here if you want a clearer clinical foundation or a list of questions for a healthcare appointment. It separates established treatment evidence from uncertain lifestyle and supplement claims.

Volume II: Modern Dating With HSV covers disclosure, consent, dating apps and communication. Its prompts can help you prepare a conversation, while leaving room for a partner’s independent decision. There is no research-backed best date or script that guarantees acceptance.

Volume III: HSV and Modern Masculinity explores stigma, self-worth, communication and support. It considers how expectations around strength, sex, control and emotional privacy may affect some men. It does not prescribe one correct response to HSV or a fixed transformation timeline.

Volume IV: Tech Tools for HSV Management examines telehealth, symptom notes, medication reminders, testing, AI tools, wearables and privacy. Consumer apps can help organise information, but a smartwatch cannot reliably predict an HSV outbreak and an image tool cannot confirm a diagnosis.

Volume V: Building Community With HSV covers peer support, online-community safety, privacy and boundaries. Peer support may provide connection, but it does not treat HSV, prevent outbreaks or guarantee better wellbeing. Joining or leading a group is optional.

How to use the guides

Pick one topic and use it to frame a practical next question. That might mean clarifying a test result with a clinician, preparing a private conversation, reviewing an app’s permissions or deciding whether a peer group feels safe. You can set aside sections that do not fit your situation. None of the guides requires public disclosure, a particular relationship outcome or a timetable for emotional change.

The free Resources page offers 18 downloadable worksheets, checklists and directories.
